It will come as no surprise if you have chanced upon this café. After all, DC Comics Superheroes Café swallows one entire wing of Marina Bay Sands’ level 1, taking up a massive 3 shop space (think about the hefty rental charges incurred!) We’re certain that they have full confidence in their concept, but does it live up to expectations?
First impressions count, and yes, this café looks like no other, with your favourite superheros adorning every possible inch of shop space. In this aspect, you’re getting your money worth if you’re an avid photographer, keen to capture every bespoke feature in the shop that also sells souvenirs.
First up on our table for brunch would be Man Of Steel (SGD$9.90). This is what they label as Blue curacao with Sprite & Pineapple syrup mix. For 10 bucks, it’s definitely pricey, but you’ll never know fans of Superman, who will feel that such an experience will be priceless!
Next up will be Wonder Woman: Invisible Love Boat (SGD$13.90). It is Vegetarian Ratatouille – Fried Idaho potato shells with melted mozzarella and parmesan cheese, served with mesclun salad & vine tomato. Sounds like plenty of goodness on the plate, and yes, it does taste good, with the punchy flavour of the melted cheese dominating the entire experience. We had to snap a picture without the mains to display the Batman plate!
If you’re a diehard fan of DC Comics, there will be no substitute. But if you’re keen to grab a bite in MBS, we would suggest exploring elsewhere that might be cheaper, and more satisfying for the tummy (size wise). But as we have learnt over the decades, never anger a comics fanboy – this will be dreamland for him/her!
